Rollin' Spools

Another little block more from the Parchwork Party 2008. This one is all done with Berni's help... I still have difficulties making the seams fit and the seam allowances are not completely accurate but it is turning out quite goo (ay, when will I have the wonderful 57 feet of Bernina?, let's see if I can buy it for X-mas hehe...)

El nombre del bloque es Rollin' Spools. Ya sólo me quedan 8!

The name of the block is Rollin' Spools. Only 8 to go!

Swap Zakka

Finally Marga has received the goodies of the swap Zakka... of course I am the only one to blame for the delay because I did not manage to finish the work until last weekend. But at least she liked the result... what do you think?

I sent the pink tote that you can see in the picture and a keys-keeper in origami and felt. It was the first time I used this technique and I loved it. It is done much faster that you may think at first and the result is really beautiful, do you like it?

Also I sent her a card (I am not good with scrap, as you can see), and some silk threads stained by hand, and a selection of buttons.

I have liked it a lot to participate in this swap, but the bad news is that it is most probably the last one I do, because with my job I cannot commit to this things. I hate
making people wait, or be late with these things and feel really ashamed to have had Marga waiting for it, sorry again.

Another wonderful giveaway, this time at "Don´t look now" blog, here. Kellie gives away a wonderful quilt made by her (in the picture, taken from her blog), and some of her patterns. Visit her blog, it is great.

Cottage Mosaic

¡He vuelto!...

I am back!... Well, actually I had never left but I had no time to sew... Let me tell you, I have changed my job and now I think I will have some more free time, although one always ends up bringing work home, but I hope I can manage to finish up some things.

This afternoon I gave some work to my Berni, and I have finished a block of the Patchwork Party that I started by hand many months ago. Now that I have my sewing partner with me I think that hand-sewing will be put aside for a while, although it is not very nice to mix in the same project blocks by hand and by machine, the rest will be done by Berni :)))

The block's name is Cottage Mosaic and voilà!, here it is! What do you think?

I have also finished the present of the swap Zakka organised by Najma, and this monday afternoon it left towards its destination, when my secret friend will receive it I will also publish it but for now, I must wait... Lots of kisses and see you soon.

Un proyecto interesante...

Tomado de Mujeres al Borde... Taken from Mujeres al Borde

In a blog I usually read and that I recommend because she publishes wonderful ideas, I just saw information about a very interesting project. It is perfectly explained by Alejandra Alcántara in this post, but in summary it is about playing the "malfunctioning phone" creating quilts, in this way. They used a picture (taken by one of them, Deb Cashatt, to avoid copyright problems) to create a first quilt and once this first quilt is finished it was sent to a partner that made herself a new quilt based on it, without seeing the picture, and then sent it to a third partner, and so on. As you can see in this link of a pdf with the creations on three groups of quilters based on the same first picture, the transformation is incredible! Anybody dares?

Sigo por aquí....

Hola a todas...
